Use Your Credit Card Deals as Bails

Did you know that your credit card deal can help you not to spend a night in jail? If your wallet contains a credit card, you can use it as a bail and you are free to go! There are many jails in the United States and their number keeps growing, today you can use your plastic to post bail and be free before the finger print ink dries!

This swipe-and-go option has many fans, but there are people who simply hate it too! It is unbelievable, but some credit card companies will grant the rewards for using their cards as bails! So you will not only get freedom, but some nice rewards too!

In some places, for example in Madison County, New York, this program has been operating for several years. According to the Sheriff, credit cards as bails are very beneficial for the arrestees as it helps them to get out of jail very quickly.

All jail officials have to do is to wait for the fax saying that the payment has gone through! They don't even have to talk to the credit card companies! For most jail officials, credit cards is just another option to using a bail bondsman or paying amount in full in cash!

The fans of this program say that it is very beneficial:

  • It saves county a lot of money on jail uniform, shoes, food and toilet paper.
  • If the arrestee spends less time in jail that means that there is less chance the officers will have to deal with health problems or possible injuries that can occur during their watches.
  • Finally, the program helps to save time! The procedure is very quick - just swipe your card and you are free to go!

There is also good news for those who appreciate fast and convenient way of getting out of jail using their credit cards! The largest issuers such as American Express and Citibank offer such credit card users to get points on their rewards credit cards for posting a bail!

But not all people feel so positive about this program. For example, the national organization for bail bondsmen is against it. They don't understand why someone could get out of jail with their credit card. They think that it is too easy.

The use of credit cards also has damaged the livelihood of bail agents as the small bonds are using credit cards now!

But the statistic shows that arrestees themselves feel great about this program! In 2006 the credit card bail option was used 103 times for a total amount of $162,650!

So now if you apply for the credit card offer, you can not only count on getting discounts, free trips, hotel stays and other savings, now your credit card can help you to get of jail! I sincerely hope that you will never find yourself in jail, but in case you will, hopefully your credit card will be in your wallet!

Now your plastic card is also your "ticket to freedom"!
