Cash Back Credit Card Deals

If you are looking for the sweet scent of cash - and the majority of cardholders involved into rewards credit cards are - choose cash back cards. The undeniable strength of this type of cards is that they offer you money for something you have already done. And will do again and again.

It may seem too good to be true. A credit card company gives you money just for using a plastic. So, you have a convenient and secure tool to make your day to day payments that also helps you to get some money back. However, there are terms and conditions that you should be aware of.

What is Cash Back?

Cash back credit offers give card holders a percentage of their monthly spendings back. This percentage depends on how much money is spent. The more money you spend, the more cash back you get. Sounds wonderful. You should not expect, though, that your lender will send you crisp tenners in an envelope. This money will be deducted from your balance.

What is the Cash Back Catch?

To make the most of your rewards card you need to pay off your balance in full every month. Otherwise interest rate will become quite high and your cash back will be wiped off. Sometimes there is also a cap on the cash earned.

There is one more point to think over. If your cash back card has an annual fee try to get rid of the plastic. There is no point in giving money to credit card company in order to get some back from it. You can make a better credit card deal. Let us view a simple example. No Hassle CashSM Rewards by Capital One is a cash back offer with the annual fee of $29. On average for every $100 spent you are rewarded with $1. This means that if you wish just to get your annual fee back, you need to spend minimum of $2900 a year. This is $242 a month. Only after that you will really start to earn cash.

So, if you put $1000 on your card and pay off balance in full each month in order to avoid interest rate, by the end of the year you will earn approximately $90. Now you can see why the banks are keen about rewards credit cards deals.

Not For Debtors

You should remember that those who carry balance will not benefit from any rewards card. Cash back deals cannot be the right choice because any money earned will be wiped out by a debt. If you are a cash back card owner, you need to be very disciplined and pay off the whole balance in time.

It does not mean that you should use your card only in emergencies. Vice versa, charge your plastic as much as you can. Only make sure you clear your balance every month before the due date.

If you still hesitate whether a cash back credit card is the right deal for you ask yourself a question. "Am I going to pay off my balance in full every month?" If the answer is "yes" do not hesitate and make an online application right now. If "no", then this kind of card is not for you.
